01 / 03An API 16A double ram blowout preventer combines two independently operated ram cavities in one pressure-containing body. Each cavity can be configured with fixed pipe rams, variable-bore rams, blind rams, shear rams or blind-shear ram assemblies to match the well program and required emergency functions. Available configurations cover nominal bore sizes from approximately 4-1/16 to 26-3/4 inches and rated working pressures from 2,000 to 20,000 psi.
