Connecting-Tripping Device
Overview
The connecting-tripping device is a downhole tool for petroleum drilling and production machinery. It is mainly used to connect and separate the sucker-rod string and rod pump.
During pump inspection or retrieval, it allows the pump body and rod string to be disconnected safely to help prevent equipment damage.

Main Structure
- Center rod: connects the upper connection and sealing body and transmits force.
- Anti-release sleeve: encounters resistance while the rod string is lifted and drives the outer sliding sleeve.
- Center tube: works with the anti-release sleeve to control ball position.
- Outer sliding sleeve: works with the inner sleeve to control ball entry and exit.
Operating Sequence
- Connection: lowering the sucker-rod string moves the center rod and inner sleeve downward. The outer spring drives the outer sleeve and pushes the balls into the annular groove of the center rod.
- Disconnection: lifting the sucker rod causes the anti-release sleeve to encounter resistance and move the outer sleeve. The balls enter the annular space between the anti-release sleeve and center tube, completing separation.
