The challenge of a mixed order
Mixed orders create two common risks: similar parts can be confused during packing, and technical questions for one line item can delay the complete shipment. The project therefore began with a line-by-line review rather than a single general product description.
Structuring the requirement
- Each product received a clear item number and description.
- Models, dimensions or reference photographs were attached where available.
- Quantities and spare-part groupings were separated by line item.
- Destination marking and packing-list format were confirmed before completion.
Technical clarification
Items with incomplete information were held for clarification while confirmed products moved into production planning. This prevented assumptions from being carried into the finished order.
Inspection by product family
Clamps, sealing parts and rod accessories were checked according to their own relevant characteristics. Representative dimensions, surface condition, identification and quantities were reviewed before consolidation.
Packing for receiving efficiency
The products were separated and identified within the overall shipment so the receiving team could match packages to the commercial list. Heavier components and smaller accessories were secured appropriately rather than mixed loosely in one container.
Result
The contractor received one coordinated shipment with clearer product identification and fewer receiving questions. For future maintenance programs, the same line-item structure can be reused and updated as quantities or models change.
